Olympic Air appoints APG in Turkey

The Greek carrier Olympic Air has appointed APG, the world’s leading GSA network as its representative in Turkey. APG will be providing full sales and marketing services as well as call centre and ticketing facilities.

Olympic Air’s network covers 39 destinations offering around 170 flights per day. Domestic routes include flights to and from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Alexandroupolis, Limnos, Mytilini, Chios, Corfu, Samos, Kos, Rhodes, Syros, Mykonos, Santorini, Heraklion, Chania, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and Ioannina. Olympic Air also operates international services to such destinations as Tel Aviv, Belgrade, Bucharest, Larnaca, Tirana as well as Istanbul to where Olympic Air operates 13 weekly frequencies using A320 and A319 aircraft.

Ferzan Unlusoy, Director of APG Turkey commented, “It will be a great pleasure to work with Olympic Air in Turkey. Boosted by strong collaboration with Olympic Air, we look forward to expanding the scope of the operation between Turkey and Greece. There is high demand for the Greek Islands from Turkey. Our aim is to generate additional traffic to the lesser known Aegean islands, in addition to the already popular ones such as Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos and Patmos, especially for honeymooners.”

Olympic Air is the largest Greek airline by destinations served, formed from the privatization of the former national carrier Olympic Airlines. Its main hub is Athens International Airport, with Thessaloniki International Airport and Rhodes International Airport serving as secondary hubs.

APG Turkey has been established for over 6 years and is based in Istanbul. The company forms part of the APG network and represents numerous airlines, among them: China Southern Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Syphax, Darwin Airlines, Santa Barbara Airlines, TAAG Angola Airlines and Heli Air Monaco.
