Rail Europe offers more discounted fares and e-ticketing on Spanish trains

Rail Europe continues its expansion and the strengthening of their offer. The No1 distributor of train tickets and rail passes in the world announced the signature of a direct distribution agreement with the national Railways of Spain “Renfe Operadora”. In that framework, a direct connection between Renfe’s and Rail Europe’s distribution systems is also implemented.

“The benefits of the new agreement/connection are immediate, for both travel agents and travellers. Not only they can enjoy the convenience of e-tickets ("Print at home"), they also now have access to all trains and to all fares offered by Renfe, including the low cost "Web" & "Estrella" fares (offering up to 60% discount) and promotions.”

If there is one country where train is the best way to travel, Spain is that one! Spain’s geography allows all major cities to be connected in a few hours only and with the development of high speed lines, many journey times have been reduced by up to 50%. What’s more, Renfe boasts to have the most modern fleet in Europe, ensuring a comfortable and rewarding experience.

Rail Europe offers all trains in Spain, from regional trains to the famous "AVE" high speed trains (running at up to 350 km/h) and the international overnight train between Spain and France, Italy and Switzerland, "Elipsos". So enjoy the Spanish way of life and discover the wonders of Spain by train, from the Basque Country’s cliffs to la Costa del Sol’s sand beaches!

Renfe is one of the most modern train operators in the world, says Pierre-Stephane Austi, CEO of Rail Europe, and we are happy to allow more and more travellers from our markets to experience great journeys and impeccable service.

For Javier Casado Ucieda, Marketing and Commercial Director for Renfe, "the sales agreement between Renfe and Rail Europe is a major step in our distribution strategy, allowing us to better serve our clients in the non-European markets. We look forward to developing our sales together, and to allow more and more travellers to enjoy the quality of our trains thanks to Rail Europe’s professionalism and dynamism."

In 2010, Rail Europe sales of Spanish tickets increased by more than 40%, evidencing Rail Europe’s expertise and the dynamism of the Spanish tourist market.
