Reid promises “imagination and engagement” at CONFEX 2009

The Confex Group has launched the strategy for next year’s International Confex, with the focus on igniting the imagination and visitor engagement.  The strategy will be supported by a brand new creative, new show features and a re-formatted seminar programme, all focusing on delivering an inspiring visitor experience.

“Our visitors are telling us that they want a show that stimulates their imagination,” comments Duncan Reid, Director Confex Group. “More and more pressure is being but on organiser budgets and imagination is the ingredient they can add to make the investment work harder. We’re working with our exhibitors to ensure the show reflects this feedback both from both a marketing and operational standpoint.”

To complement this strategy, a new marketing creative has been produced with the focus firmly on imagination. Individual campaign visuals are used to illustrate new thinking and inspiration, and will once again be evident in the run up to the show and throughout the on-site experience.

“We’ve also done a huge amount of research into the visitor flow at the show. This way we can track the high footfall areas and construct an experience that will engage visitors for longer,” added Reid. “We’ll be introducing new features, a re-formatted Confex Knowledge programme, and networking opportunities, all designed to offer more engagement and a richer show experience.”

Last year around 15,000 people attended International Confex, making it the most successful show in the brand’s 25 year history.  The event also saw more exhibitors represented over the three days and is expecting to see more returning visitors and exhibitors on the 24th – 26th February 2009.

“Confex has had an outstanding few years following the changes we have made to the product, and this has been reflected in our visitor numbers. Our focus has to remain with ensuring the product is as engaging as possible to ensure buyers get what they want and exhibitors see the benefit of being at the show.”
