The Tourism Society, the UK’s organisation of professionals in the industry, has sent a document to all of the major political parties outlining ten points that the Society believes should be included in the next Government’s policy on tourism.
Chairman of the Society David Curtis-Brignell said “This has been prepared by our own Think Tank. As an independent organisation with membership embracing professionals in all sectors of the tourism industry, The Tourism Society is able to provide impartial comment and we hope that this will be useful to parties when determining their policy on tourism issues.”
The topics in the document include Funding for Tourism, Tourism Statistics, Local Authorities’ Tourism Policy, Quality standards, Skills, Taxation and ICT. A copy is available on request or one can be downloaded from the Tourism Society website.
