Lithodomos, a human experience 3,000 years in the making

Lithodomos made its first breakthrough in early 2017 with modest funding and has since morphed into a global powerhouse with museums, enormous tourism operators and universities all over the world as clients.

Whether it is witnessing Stonehenge being built, actively pursuing the bloodthirsty trail of Jack the Ripper, standing in the shoes of the Colosseums’ legendary gladiators or gently sailing into the awe inspiring medieval port of Barcelona, we all want to share in, and experience, our collective history. Lithodomos has turned back the hands of time to deliver these first-hand experiences all over the world.

What began as a desire to see the world through the eyes of our ancestors, is now shaping as the “goto” tourism and museum experience of 2018 and the future. “The sheer speed of our growth, to sites in over a dozen countries, is because people love being transported to explore bygone worlds”, explains CEO Tony Simmons.

Lithodomos made its first breakthrough in early 2017 with modest funding and has since morphed into a global powerhouse with museums, enormous tourism operators and universities all over the world as clients. In fact, in less than 18 months they have gained partners at 50+ sites in over 15 countries.

They are rapidly being adopted and embraced by the industries that they are, perversely, disrupting. Dr Simon Young is a PhD archaeologist who grew up in outback Australia (he also happens to speak 7 languages). He founded Lithodomos from a deep passion, as he excitedly explains, “I was very frustrated, always hearing people at historical sites saying, “I wonder what this used to look like”. So, I started building the tools that enable them to step inside these ancient places and spaces and explore and experience these historical worlds. It is the closest thing we have to a time machine”.

Customers agree too. The archaeologically correct, high quality work is authentic and gives customers a spellbinding sense of connection and understanding. Thoroughly immersive, Lithodomos has just launched Lithodomos Engage on the iOS App Store and Google Play Stores. Dr Young continues, “We are certainly in the ‘WOW’ business and created Lithodomos Engage so that everyone can share in this collective sense of wonder. All you need is a basic VR device and your smart phone and you’re away”.
