The Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM), the leading exhibition dedicated to the Meetings, Incentive, Conferences, Events and Business Travel Industry in the Gulf and wider Middle East region, continues to attract key players in the meetings industry.

Taking place from 31 March to 2 April 2009 at the purpose built, state of the art Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), recent new sign ups for the annual event include Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center and ApartmentStay.

Following successful attendance at last year’s GIBTM, exhibitors who have chosen to return include Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Cyprus Tourism Organisation, Egyptian Tourist Authority, Etihad Airways, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), Jumeirah, Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board, Qatar Tourism & Exhibition Authority, Rotana Hotels and Resorts, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority ESP Recruitment, and South African based event marketing consultants Drewe Associates.

Returning after a year break is Singapore Tourism Board, recognising the important role GIBTM plays as a pivotal event for the meetings and incentives (MICE) industry in the Region and in developing international business.

Whether new exhibitors or those returning to GIBTM, all have chosen to exhibit precisely because the event delivers a quality audience. Last year GIBTM attracted 223 Hosted Buyers and 1,268 trade visitors and VIPs; organised 5,000 pre scheduled appointments and numerous networking events (2008 figures).

Additionally, technology exhibitors are also recognising the importance GIBTM plays in the meetings events calendar attracting the likes of new exhibitor CoverEx, with Hive the Solution, Ungerboeck Systems Intl and GlobalWare – software to manage your event, all returning.

Commenting on the current signings and returning exhibitors, Exhibition Director Graeme Barnett said: “With over six months before the event itself, we are absolutely delighted with the quality of international venues, destinations and services that have already committed to GIBTM next year – those who have recognised that such a dynamic industry needs quality events like GIBTM and EIBTM in Barcelona, Spain and CIBTM in Beijing, China.”

GIBTM attracts a regional and global visitor audience including hundreds of hosted buyers from Europe, America, Africa, Asia, the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East; professionals iinvolved in the planning and organisation of incentive travel programmes, congresses or events – all attending GIBTM to ‘do business’.
