The newly-launched Hertz Jordan website, www.hertz.com.jo, has been designed by software solutions specialists, Eskadenia, to open up the tourism trail to the country`s many historical, religious, and natural attractions, which lure visitors from around the world.
We`ve built in a variety of different car rental options and packages which allow visitors to plan their own personalised leisure visit, said Najati Shakhshir, general manager of Shakshir Rent a Car, the Hertz international franchisee in Jordan. We wanted to make it very easy for people to plan their trip to Jordan in detail, so that everything is in place before they arrive.
Among the car rental services available through the website is a car and driver touring programme linked to Jordan`s major historical sites. This uses drivers who speak a variety of languages, and are specially-trained to make touring an interesting, enjoyable and comfortable experience.
Car and driver tours feature locations such as Petra, with its remarkable tombs and temples built by the ancient Nabataeans, the 12th century fortresses of Qasr Al Shawbak and Ajloun, and the former Roman spa of Um Qais, whose universal climate has attracted writers, artists, poets and philosophers down the years.
Also featured are the ancient town of Pella, thought to have been inhabited in early 5000 BC, the Roman city of Jerash, and ancient Madaba, rebuilt after being attacked and destroyed by the tenth century Aramaeans.
Renowned for its therapeutic characteristics, the Dead Sea brings another tour to the lowest point on earth at 400 metres below sea level, and more natural marvels are uncovered among the giant sandstone mountains and dunes of Wadi Rum, described in the writings of T.E. Lawrence.
Visitors to www.hertz.com.jo can choose from a full range of Hertz car rental services, and select their vehicle from the most extensive car rental fleet in Jordan.
