London is staging the flavoursome festival designed to promote Brazilian cocktails, gastronomy, culture and tourism.
VBRATA UK (Visit Brazil Travel & Cultural Association) launched on Tuesday 05 September 2017, the first edition of the London Caipirinha Festival in partnership with the Embassy of Brazil in London and partners. The festival kicked off with an opening event exclusively for the UK travel trade and press at the Embassy of Brazil in Trafalgar Square.
The opening event was totally fully booked with over 180 professionals from the travel industry and press. Guests had the opportunity to watch short presentations about The London Caipirinha Festival 2017, the history of caipirinha and cachaça (the Brazilian distilled spirit used to make a caipirinha) and an overview of Brazil as a tourist, gastronomy and cultural destination.
During the event the travel trade also met the exhibitors: LATAM Airlines, TAP Portugal, Azul Airlines and Gol Airlines, showcasing their services to and within Brazil while agents tasted and learnt how to make a caipirinha during the caipirinha master class.
“The travel trade opening event of the London Caipirinha Festival was a success and it has confirmed that gastronomy is one of the most important segments to promote, and to hold the attention of the UK travel trade, in particular with the Brazilian quintessential cocktail, the caipirinha, as we had one of the best turn out of agents in all our events. We will carry promoting Brazilian food and drinks as well as caipirinhas and gastronomy to the travel trade in the UK and are pleased to confirm the second edition of the London Caipirinha Festival for June 2018,” says Chris Fuzinatto, Chairman of VBRATA EUROPE and creator of the London Caipirinha Festival.
The festival comes at a time when public interest in Brazil is in the ascendency following a series of cultural events and programmes designed to celebrate Brazilian culture in London.
