Wyndham Extra Holidays celebrates reopening of Puerto Rico resort

Margaritaville Vacation Club Wyndham Rio Mar opens for vacation guests with 20 percent discount.

RIO GRANDE, PUERTO RICO – Join the festivities in Puerto Rico as Wyndham Extra Holidays, a part of Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world's largest vacation ownership company and member of the Wyndham Worldwide family of companies, celebrates the reopening of Margaritaville Vacation Club Wyndham Rio Mar on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

Thirty minutes outside of historical San Juan, Margaritaville Vacation Club Wyndham Rio Mar, a Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham resort, is ideally situated within the stunning, 500-acre Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort. Nestled between lush rainforest and a mile of secluded Atlantic beachfront, the resort is landscaped in harmony with the island and neighboring El Yunque Rainforest. The resort features three sparkling beachfront pools, miles of hiking, biking and jogging trails, beach volleyball, two championship golf courses, tennis, a fitness center, water sport rentals and much more.

"We are proud to support the rebuilding of Puerto Rico and are thrilled to welcome visitors back to our amazing beachfront resort," said Paul Carney, senior vice president with Wyndham Extra Holidays. "Our amazing staff at Rio Mar has worked so hard not only to restore the resort but also to be a part of the rebuilding of the island. We invite guests to come enjoy a spectacular vacation and be a part of the revitalized island experience."

Resort suites include one or two king beds, a queen sleeper sofa (one- and three-bedroom suites only), and two queen beds (three-bedroom). Enjoy separate rooms with full kitchens (kitchenette in studios), separate dining/living areas, and Wi-Fi and TVs in every suite.

This is an ideal setting for a tranquil island vacation with the comforts of home – the fully-equipped kitchen even provides the use of a Frozen Concoction Maker for margaritas and daiquiris.

Enjoy new and improved poolside bar and restaurants
Start your day at Marbella's, offering American and Caribbean breakfast favorites in the newly renovated $1.2 million space featuring a soaring wall of windows with breathtaking views of the colorful garden and azure ocean. The expanded tiki hut restaurant, opening in May, accommodates more than 40 guests while offering fresh salads, sandwiches and cold beverages in a lively and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a day by the pool.

The resort's lobby bar has been transformed into Caicu Rum Bar, featuring signature rum-based cocktails and light bites. Following a $1 million investment, the sleek and sophisticated Caicu Rum Bar is an ideal spot to wind down while gazing out over the golden beach and vibrant reefs.
