Hostelworld teams up with Gogobot to create new customised travel experience

The partnership will see Hostelworld customers enjoy in-trip recommendations of ‘things to do’ and ‘places to eat’, allowing users to discover off-the-beaten-track adventures and truly local experiences as they travel the world.

Hostelworld, the world’s leading hostel accommodation platform, has announced a partnership with Gogobot, the award winning travel planning app and website, to create a customised experience for millennial travellers all around the world. This new feature called ‘My Trips’ delivers travellers relevant information about what to see and do in their destination from the moment they book their hostel.

A natural fit, the partnership will see Hostelworld customers enjoy in-trip recommendations of ‘things to do’ and ‘places to eat’, allowing users to discover off-the-beaten-track adventures and truly local experiences as they travel the world.

These experiences have been tailored to the Hostelworld customer who craves adventure, sociability and the gritty, real side of travel, by tapping into the best recommendations from relevant Gogobot Tribes, including Adventure Travellers, Backpackers, Budget Travellers, Outdoor Enthusiasts and the Local Culture Tribe.

Breffni Horgan, Head of Product at Hostelworld, said: “We are very excited to have teamed up with Gogobot to enable our customers to get the most out of the cities they visit. Our customers are highly mobile, and look for experiences not souvenirs; they’re also very sociable, want to live as locals do and meet the world. We’re confident this new feature will help them do just that.”

Initially, Gogobot will support 22 major cities including London, New York and San Francisco with a view to expand the offering over the coming months.

“We’re excited that millions of Hostelworld travellers will now have access to personalised recommendations, powered by the Gogobot community, on what to see and where to eat in major cities around the world,” noted Gil Harel, Gogobot’s Vice President of Business Development. “We know how important it is for Hostelworld to create an awesome, custom app experience for its app users and we’re thrilled that Hostelworld selected Gogobot because of the bespoke recommendations our millennial members share with each other via Gogobot’s 19 unique tribes.”

The Hostelworld app is free to download from the App Store, initially available on iOS only.
