V Five Continents Hospitality Group operate three new hotels in the Middle East

Abu Dhabi-based V Five Continents Hospitality Group signed at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), agreements to manage and operate three new hotels in the Middle East. Located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait City and on Egypt’s Mediterranean Coast, the new additions bring to thirteen the number of properties in its fast-growing portfolio of unique, Sharia-compliant ‘Wellness hotels and resorts’.

Chief Executive Officer and Partner, Richard Abou Jaoude, said V Five Continents’ unique approach to hotel management in the Middle East region, has helped fuel a rapid expansion programme over the last two years and which will see an additional six hotels and resorts under the company’s management by 2013.

“Since our introduction to the market in 2007, we have witnessed rapid and increased demand for this type of product offering –particularly in the area of religious tourism,” he said. “Our Wellness hotels embrace a range of unique offerings, from properties being green i.e. environmentally friendly, to culturally sensitive (such as halal food), as well as being alcohol and pollution free, all of which contribute to our philosophy of healthy living for our guests.

“To be able to finalise the addition of these three strategically important properties at this very important forum for the travel trade, is very gratifying,” he added, “And further reinforces the confidence our investors -H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan and Emirates Associated Business Group (E.A.B.G ) have in the future of this very special product offering.”

The agreements were signed for the Al Jiwar Tower, Mecca with Ali Al-Obaidli, Chairman, Nuzul Holdings in Bahrain, for Emirates Heights, Egypt with General Ismail Abdulla El Gargawi, Chairman of Gargawi Group and Partner of Yafamac, Owner of Emirates Heights and for the Ramada Plaza, Kuwait with Abdullah Sami Al Kulaib, Chairman, Gulf Development House. The hotels will all be open by 2010.

Ramada Plaza, Kuwait is located on Salmiyah’s 4th round about and Fahaheel highway; located within a short drive from Kuwait City downtown area and will comprise 362 rooms and suites.

The Al Jiwar V Continents all suites Hotel Tower is located in a prime location 100 metres from the Holy Mosque in the middle of Makkah City and 50 minutes drive from Jeddah International Airport. It will initially open with 90 one and two bedroom suites.

The Emirates Heights V Continent resort is located in a pristine location on the northwest coast of Egypt facing the Mediterranean Sea. The complex is some 180 kms from the centre of Alexandria and just metres away from the beach front of 1.5 kilometres. Emirates Heights is served by the Airport of El Alamein or from Cairo International Airport some 350 kms to the south.

Work on the mixed use Master Development commenced in 2007 and offers various attractions and real estate services ranging from Time Share to Marina Life and Resort Hotels, with a total area of 1.2 million square metres for the development.

Phase 1, which is expected to be operational later this year, is low rise and consists of 30 chalets and 200 hotel rooms and suites. Phase 2 will see an additional 200 room hotel with a convention centre and time share component for 250 chalets/villas each with 250 m² of floor space.
