Orient-Express Hotels – known for luxury hotels, trains and cruises – is now adding an exciting new dimension to its portfolio : private jets. The move is in response to the changing needs of today`s sophisticated travellers who still want to visit the world`s finest locations and savour stylish experiences but have limited leisure time.

The Orient-Express Private Jet Experience aims to remove the frustrations and restore the style to 21st century travel as chartering a private jet enables travellers to combine the very best experiences in a way impossible or too time-consuming on scheduled air services.

Commenting on the launch Nick Varian, Vice President of Orient-Express Hotels said, “Time is becoming a more precious commodity so we have developed a service that will ensure our customers can make the most of their leisure time. Private jet travel not only saves time but offers security, privacy and discretion. There is no more efficient or enjoyable way to travel than on a special itinerary with direct access to your own private jet.”

The private jet service can be experienced in a variety of ways, but in every case flexibility and freedom are key, whether it be in date, departure point or destination.

For the first time, Orient-Express is offering a limited number of exclusive, scheduled itineraries in Europe and the Americas, on which individual seats can be booked, using its properties as a base and carefully compiled to include the best each continent has to offer.

The 7 night `Romance of Europe` itinerary uses Paris as a hub. Passengers arrive in Venice after a night and a day on the fabled Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and spend 3 nights at Hotel Cipriani. Leave Venice on a 14 seater Canadair jet and lunch at Hotel Splendido in Portofino. Having strolled around this most elegant and sophisticated of fishing villages, fly on to Carcassonne in Southern France and spend 3 nights at Hôtel de la Cita exploring the delights of this medieval city deep in Cathar country. Take a private jet day trip to Bilbao to visit the acclaimed Guggenheim Museum. On the final day, the private jet returns guests to Paris.

Further afield, guests can enjoy two of South America`s most diverse and sought-after experiences from an exclusive cruise to the magical islands of the Galapagos, strung along the Equator to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas, high in the Andes. Or spend a week among the Mayas and the Incas, starting the holiday on Mexico`s Riviera Maya with the opportunity to take a private jet day trip to see the incredible Mayan ruins at Tikal in Guatemala.

Alternatively, Orient-Express can arrange tailor-made itineraries, suitable for families, friends or a corporate event. The a la carte service provides a private jet to take guests to Orient-Express` resort hideaways in Europe, Mexico or the Caribbean.

Whichever experience is chosen, the dedicated private jet concierge service will take care of every aspect of the trip, ensuring that travel is free from the irritations and inconveniences of the modern world. Every detail is thought through, from limousine transfers and private guides to booking tickets for the ballet or the best table in the most sought after restaurant.

Further travel benefits of this new service include flexible travel dates and duration, local departure points, as flights are not restricted to commercial airports, direct access to new destinations normally inaccessible on conventional routes and increased privacy and security.

A variety of aircraft are featured in the programme from six seater Lear jets to Boeing and Airbus aircraft ideal for larger groups or corporate events. All offer comfortable and stylish surroundings that put the thrill back into air travel.

The Orient-Express charter fleet includes Boeing Business Jet, the Airbus 319 corporate jet, Boeing 727-200s, 737-300s and 757s, Embraer Legacy, Falcon 2000, Gulfstream IV, Canadair Jet, Falcon 20 and 900 and Lear 31, 35 and 45, and more.
