ALTIDO announces new CEO to take the hospitality brand to the next level of expansion

Billy O’Sullivan brings more than 20 years vacation rental and hospitality experience to ALTIDO, having started as an owner and then running successful property management and real estate portfolios in Hawaii, Park City and the Pacific Northwest.

LISBON – ALTIDO, the European hospitality management company, announced that it has appointed Billy O’Sullivan as CEO in order to lead the company into the next phase of product expansion and market penetration.

In May 2019, four leading European short-term rental property management companies merged their combined business operations, in order to create ALTIDO, a new hospitality brand and vision for the unified marketing, management and operations of more than 1,700 distinctive properties across 21 destinations in Europe. All four companies involved in the merger were fast-growing, privately owned, profitable and enjoyed organic growth in their core markets with Portugal, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Billy O’Sullivan brings more than 20 years vacation rental and hospitality experience to ALTIDO, having started as an owner and then running successful property management and real estate portfolios in Hawaii, Park City and the Pacific Northwest. Most recently, Billy led the Vacation Rental team at Property Management Inc., a successful vacation rental franchise business in North America, with 257 offices and over 40 thousand units under management. Billy’s responsibilities included leading the acquisition of a competing franchisor complete with onboarding 11 offices with over 1800 properties. This was achieved without raising external financing and was completely ‘bootstrapped’.

First and foremost, ALTIDO is about our people; including our guests, owners, partners, tech development teams and operations teams,” said Billy O’Sullivan. “Guest experience is central to the ALTIDO brand and our core strengths lie in being hyper local with management teams in all of the locations we operate. I’m really excited to join ALTIDO to continue to develop a strong partnership business model to grow our portfolio and a distinctive hospitality brand across Europe and beyond.”

Tom Archer, co-founder of ALTIDO and interim CEO since the merger, will step into the role of Managing Director for the Portuguese operations. Of Billy’s appointment, he says, “Our ambition is to be the first fully-integrated global family of property managers and we are excited to have Billy lead on this. Billy brings huge amounts of experience to the role including successfully developing into new markets including urban, rural, beach and mountain as well as in areas that have not been traditionally thought of as typically vacation and short stay.”

ALTIDO will continue the success of the four founding companies with localised property management and teams on the ground taking care of owner relations, cleaning and maintenance, 24/7 guest communications and heightened guest experience. A key focus for ALTIDO will be to create a definitive and branded guest experience throughout the customer journey, as well as forging strong and enduring relationships with owners, property investors and partners.
