GBTA Europe rendorsed strategic KPI Resource tool

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – announced the launch of a Strategic KPI Resource Tool created by a team of four top industry consultants on behalf of the Association.

After an initial announcement about the resource creation by GBTA at the network’s annual European conference in the Netherlands in September, the toolkit creators engaged on a consultation exercise with industry buyers to fine tune the product, culminating in a launch via a webinar being run by the team on Monday 30th January.

The GBTA Strategic KPI Resource Tool was created by four of the industry’s best thinkers about travel data: Torsten Kriedt, Vice President Innovation & Intelligence at Advito, Scott Gillespie from Gillespie’s Guide to Travel+Procurement, Nicolas Borel from opTmo and James Westgarth from SCS Corporate Travel (France) S.A.S.  The resource has been endorsed by the GBTA Europe Strategic Benchmark Group, comprising of 16 travel buyers with expenditure in excess of €200m per annum. It will be available to all of the association’s members from January 30th in the GBTA Global Resource library via gbta.org/europe.

The toolkit consists of a detailed descriptive document and a user-friendly Excel-based scoring tool. The document covers twenty-one KPIs, from which travel programme managers may choose as best fits their needs. Each KPI includes the core question it aims to answer, the rationale and definition, challenges and likely data sources. The Excel tool allows the user to select a set of KPIs, weight them for importance, set goals and calculate an overall programme score.

GBTA Europe’s Managing Director, Paul Tilstone, said, “This resource tool would potentially cost each buyer member of GBTA thousands of pounds in consultancy expertise so we are indebted to the four independent consultants who have dedicated their time and knowledge to this project. This is exactly what we planned to achieve when we launched GBTA in Europe.”
