Change. Branding. Leadership. These compelling and critical topics will be addressed in three dynamic general sessions during the IACVB 89th Annual Convention, July 19-22, 2003, in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

The speakers addressing these topics at the convention are highly regarded authorities in the areas of change management, branding, and leadership, said IACVB President & CEO Michael Gehrisch. We are excited to have such distinguished experts address our attendees.

IACVB`s 89th Annual Convention opens Sunday, July 20, with a keynote address by Dr. Robert Kriegel, New York Times best-selling author and commentator for National Public Radio`s Marketplace Program. Kriegel will reveal how to maximize productivity, innovation, and products, and explain why Sacred Cows Make the Best Burgers, the title of his popular book.

On Monday, July 21, attendees will be challenged to consider their destination`s promise in a presentation entitled Build & Develop Brand Equity for Your Destination. In this session, Duane Knapp, president of BrandStrategy, Inc.(tm), author of The BrandMindset?, will demonstrate how a distinctive brand, which is understood and agreed upon by stakeholders, is the key to a destination`s ultimate success.

Learning from the Masters: Jazz Legends on Leadership is the topic of the closing session on Tuesday, July 22. John Hasse, an educator, musician, and award-winning author and record producer, will entertain how the essential qualities of leadership blend into the essence of jazz. Attendees will enjoy world-class jazz and learn some great lessons on leadership.

Considered the leading event worldwide exclusively for destination management professionals, IACVB`s Annual Convention offers 100+ hours of education tailored specifically for the CVB industry. Other highlights include course offerings of IACVB`s Certified Destination Management (CDME) program and the IACVB Foundation Silent Auction & Golf Tournament.
