The Congress offers a great opportunity for all professionals involved in international meetings and events to be part of this unique industry forum. The programme has been developed in consultation with representatives of every supplier discipline – known within ICCA as Categories – and also includes input from the group of influential association executives who sit on ICCA`s Client Advisory Board.
Our Categories are one of the major strengths of ICCA, says President Tuula Lindberg. We surveyed the entire membership on their wish lists for the Congress and then compiled a short-list with the Category Chairpersons. The result is a broad-reaching education programme addressing the issues most relevant to all of us active in today`s meetings business. Our aim is harmony, not discord, among the sectors.
The event kicks off on Sunday, November 4, with the General Assembly for ICCA members and official observers only. Closed Category and Chapter/Committee meetings also take place on Sunday. The next three days will comprise open cross-Category sessions, plenary and parallel sessions. And – a first for ICCA – a special motivational experience has been designed to help every delegate achieve his or her Congress goals.
The 5th ICCA Exhibition will run throughout the General Assembly & Congress. Organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, this is a highly targeted, niche marketing showcase open to ICCA members and non-members alike. All sessions and the Exhibition take place in the Melia Cancun Convention Center Beach & Spa Resort, a superb hotel on the shores of the Caribbean with every facility and a nine-hole golf course.
