The Hotel Association of Canada celebrates 100 years of shaping the Canadian lodging industry

The HAC has embarked on a year long anniversary campaign that includes a historical video and timeline amongst its many activities acknowledging and celebrating the excellence of the Association and Canada’s hotel and lodging industry.

OTTAWA, ON, CANADA – The Hotel Association on of Canada (HAC) is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary in 2013. In honour of the occasion, hoteliers from across Canada were invited to a special centennial dinner celebration marking the long history of Canadian Lodging Industry and the HAC’s role in it followed by its national conference on February 4 & 5 at the Toronto Hilton Hotel.

Hosted by improv king Colin Mochrie and his wife, television star Debra McGrath, the spectacular event toasted the winners of the  HAC Awards of Excellence Program, in addition to revealing 100 years of memories, icons and key milestones in the evolution of the HAC and the Canadian Lodging Industry.

“Since 1913, the Hotel Association of Canada has diligently worked to ensure the success and prosperity of the industry on a national level. As we reflect back over the course of this year we will be reminded of the Association’s long history and how the industry has played a significant role in the fabric of Canadian society,” said Tony Pollard, HAC President. “The Centennial dinner and the HAC conference were the kick off to a great year of celebration.”
