On 14 June 2023, with flight JU558, Air Serbia commenced a new service between Belgrade and Palermo. The national airline will operate flights from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport to the administrative centre of Sicily twice a week, each Wednesday and Saturday, throughout the entire summer season.
The inaugural flight of Air Serbia was welcomed at Falcone Borsellino Airport, located in Punta Raisi, 35 kilometres from the centre of Palermo.
“The combination of history, tradition, culture, and entertainment makes Palermo a very attractive vacation destination, equally attracting those who like active vacations, and those who would rather relax on a beach with a book. By launching a direct service to this city, we enabled travelers to reach that Italian island in less than two hours. With direct flights to Catania, which we recently launched, passengers have the opportunity to combine flights and thus get to know the whole of Sicily. We believe that many will take advantage of this opportunity,” said Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
