Expedia takes off in Malaysia with launch of AirAsia flights and packages

Expedia, Inc. announced the introduction of AirAsia flights and packages on its Malaysian website – Expedia.com.my. Travellers from Malaysia will now be able get the best of both worlds and book hotels, flights and holiday packages all on one platform and enjoy unbeatable deals and offers. AirAsia has recently been awarded ‘The World’s Best Low Cost Airline’ by Skytrax for the 3rd year running.

“As the world’s largest online travel company, we love bringing Malaysia’s travellers the best value deals through our dynamic packages. With this partnership, we are now the only 3rd party online travel agency in Malaysia offering all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights to over 75 destinations worldwide,” said Dan Lynn, CEO of Expedia Asia.

Expedia.com.my has been designed for Malaysian travellers and offers an extensive portfolio of over 140,000 hotels worldwide, along with fully localized services such as targeted deals and a Bahasa Melayu version of the site.

To celebrate the full-service launch, Expedia.com.my is offering a ‘Red Hot’ AirAsia flight and accommodation promotion which includes a free night stay for every two nights booked at 49 hotels across the region. Valid until end of October, travellers need to book online at Expedia.com.my from now to 7 September to take advantage of the launch promotion.

Expedia will also be featured in the upcoming MATTA fair, one of the most awaited and anticipated travel fairs in Malaysia.

Visitors to the Expedia booth at the MATTA fair will receive an Expedia travel tag when they take part in the fun and quirky Facebook photo contest. To participate, MATTA visitors can take photos dressed in costumes at a photo booth at the Expedia stand. The photos will then be uploaded onto Expedia Malaysia’s facebook page and the photo with the most ‘likes’ by 3pm on 31 August will win a dream holiday package worth over RM$5700.
