LOT Polish Airlines is reinstating flights to Athens. LOT Polish Airlines aircraft will be flying to the capital of Greece all year round.
LOT Polish Airlines has launched a connection between Warsaw and Athens. The national carrier‘s aircraft will be flying to Athens every day, starting 11 April 2024 at 10 a.m. The flight to
the Greek capital is expected to take 2 hours and 40 minutes while the return flight 2 hours and 35 minutes. The connection from Chopin Airport to the airport of Athens will be operated with both Embraer 195 as well as Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8. The flights from Athens will also be running seven days a week, with the return flight taking off at 2.25 p.m.
“The connection to Athens means LOT Polish Airlines passengers get to visit the heart of Greece all year round. Poles are well familiar with the Greek islands, but now the time has come to visit the charming mainland of Hellada, just as rich in historical features and ancient culture. What Greece and LOT most certainly have in common is their unparalleled hospitality – which is why I would love to invite you on board”, said Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
The resumption of flights to Athens, namely the ancient home of the Olympic Games and modern civilization, marks LOT Polish Airlines‘ bow to sports enthusiasts as it prepares for next year‘s Olympic Games in Paris.
“Over many years, LOT Polish Airlines has been in partnership with the Olympic Committees, and this is reflected in the large number of bookings for the 33 rd Summer Olympics in Paris. Given the limited capacity of Paris Airport, the Thursday flights will be relocated to Warsaw Airport if no additional slots are available. This will enable us to bring the best connections for passengers, including transit groups, travelling to the Olympic Games, both as a sports fan and as a competitor”, said Filip Biniewicz, Head of Group Offering Strategy Department, LOT Polish Airlines.
Athens is not the only new addition to LOT Polish Airlines’ flight network. The national carrier will reinstate flights from Radom to Preveza and Tirana as well as launch flights to Podgorica and Ohrid for the 2024 summer season.
Tickets for all flights operated by LOT Polish Airlines are available via sales channels on lot.com, in LOT Contact Centres and in LOT Travel offices.
