Four holiday items to include in your kids’ suitcases

These are just four tips for packing your kids’ suitcases to ensure you have everything you need.

With the summer holidays coming up, many families are making travel plans and getting ready to embark on their adventures abroad.

And when you’re travelling with kids, packing them their own little suitcase is a great way to help them share in the excitement, and will make them feel like one of the grownups.

However, packing is one of the most dreaded tasks for many holidaymakers, and if you’re in charge of suitcases for the family, you’ve got a lot on your hands. These are just four tips for packing your kids’ suitcases to ensure you have everything you need.

1. Plane entertainment
Unless you feel like paying through the nose for the inflight film, it’s worth bringing some form of entertainment with you to keep your little ones occupied.

It can be as simple as pre-downloading a couple of Netflix items onto your phone or tablet. Alternatively, books, coloring items and toys are a great way to keep them quiet – this is especially important for you and other travellers if you’re on a long flight. It may also be worth throwing a few comfort items in your hand luggage to tempt them into sleep.

2. Holiday activities
Once you land, there will be plenty of excitement for your little ones to enjoy, but it’s good for them to have some familiarity too.

It can be great for them to enjoy their usual activities in new environments, even if it’s something as simple as getting outdoors for a little playtime. Accessories such as scooters by Yvolution are foldable, meaning they can be packed away for your holiday, whilst most top travel locations will have somewhere to find a bucket and spade for sandcastles.

3. Essentials
The last thing you want when you’re on holiday is a panicked search for essentials like nappies.

These things can generally be picked up on the go, but it’s a good idea to take a backup supply in your checked luggage just in case.

If you or your little ones have sensitive skin, don’t rely on the first sunscreen brand you find – instead, pack away an alternative of your choosing such as baby sunscreen by CeraVe which is ideal if your youngsters are easily irritated by sun protection products.

4. Disposable cameras
These may admittedly be less of an essential, and a bit old-fashioned to boot.

But if your kids are too young to carry a phone, a disposable camera is a great way to let them capture their own memories on film – you probably remember the fun you used to have with them in your own younger years. And you may be surprised to learn that many high street drugstores offering photography development services will still accept digital cameras, so those images will be treasured keepsakes forever.

These four suitcase fillers will help your holiday run as smoothly as possible and ensure you and your family have the best possible time abroad.
