Gora Kadan to open second Japanese luxury resort in Mount Fuji Area in 2025

The new resort will offer only the highest level of hospitality, service, and food on top of its luxury suites and villas.

Gora Kadan, a 5-star hotel in Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa, Japan, is pleased to announce that it will open a new Japanese luxury resort on a 50,000 square meter site overlooking Mount Fuji, a World Heritage Site. It will become the second traditional Japanese luxury resort under the pre-eminent Gora Kadan brand.

The 5-star hotel plans to further evolve and expand its service offerings that combine world-class and traditional Japanese hospitality, presently offered at Gora Kadan in Hakone, together with a superior onsite Japanese restaurant featuring options beyond Kaiseki cuisine.

The new resort will offer only the highest level of hospitality, service, and food on top of its luxury suites and villas.

Gora Kadan Mt. Fuji will be an all-suite resort with a private swimming pool and connecting suites with a maximum area of about 300 m2. They plan to do this to meet the discerning needs of our international and domestic high-net-worth clientele, who demand the highest level of luxury.

Only forty-two luxury suites will be designed, making it equivalent to the size of Gora Kadan in Hakone. This is where the best omotenashi and hospitality can be provided. In addition, all suites will feature outside or open-air onsen baths with majestic views of nature, including Mt. Fuji.

The common spaces will be embellished in traditional Japanese style and, along with remarkable hospitality, will impress guests from across the globe and offer them comprehensive first-class accommodations.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Villa Suites will comprise three separate buildings—all of which can be utilized as independent private spaces. The suites will be able to meet VIP guests from Japan and abroad who value more privacy.

The resort will fully use Fuji’s exceptional alkaline hot spring, which originates from 1,500 meters underground. This hot spring water is renowned for its gentle effect on the skin and ability to enhance one’s beauty.

Guests will be able to luxuriate in this unique water in the large communal bathing area while enjoying panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and indulge in private onsen baths in their guest suites for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

The resort will feature a distinctive and appealing 36-hole golf course for guests. Moreover, with its top-notch reputation, the spa at Gora Kadan in Hakone will be enhanced and expanded in this new location.
With an extensive range of menus and treatments, along with increased relaxation areas, the upgraded spa facility will provide an unparalleled healing and wellness experience, catering to our discerning guests who value authenticity.

Gora Kadan is a luxury ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) located in the scenic resort town of Hakone, Japan. The ryokan is nestled amidst lush greenery and boasts a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Originally built as a summer residence for the Kaninnomiya Imperial Family in 1922, the 5-star hotel was transformed into a ryokan in 1951. The inn features traditional Japanese architecture and decor with modern amenities and facilities, including a spacious spa, hot spring baths, and gourmet dining options.

Gora Kadan is particularly renowned for its onsen (hot spring) baths fed by natural mineral-rich hot springs sourced from the nearby mountains. The inn offers indoor and outdoor baths and private baths for guests to enjoy in a serene and intimate setting.

In addition to the luxurious accommodations and relaxing spa treatments, Gora Kadan provides various cultural experiences, such as tea ceremony demonstrations, ikebana (flower arrangement) lessons, and traditional Japanese music performances.
