How to write the perfect essay in college in seven steps

This comprehensive guide will walk you through all seven steps of writing the perfect college essay and make you a professional paper writer in no time.

Writing the perfect essay can be difficult, especially if you’ve never written an academic paper before and don’t know exactly what professors are looking for. While there isn’t an easy formula to creating the perfect essay, there are a few steps you can take that will make your paper easier to write and more likely to get you good grades in the long run. This comprehensive guide will walk you through all seven steps of writing the perfect college essay and make you a professional paper writer in no time.

Choose your topic
Choosing a topic can be difficult, but not impossible. This may sound daunting at first, but it is important to choose your topic wisely as you will spend a lot of time researching and writing about it. Make sure you think about what you know well or what interests you most so that the research process becomes easier. If possible, find out what type of essay your professor wants: argumentative or narrative for example and this will narrow down your choices considerably. Now that you have an idea about the kind of essay your professor would like, let’s take a look at how to make it perfect!

Do your research
Doing research on the topic you are going to write about can be very helpful and will also save you time. You should check out any sources that may have information on your topic, such as books, articles or websites. If you find anything interesting, it is important not only to read it, but also take notes on it. The next step is organizing your thoughts. Start by summarizing what you found and write down what points you want to make in your essay.

Create an outline
Creating an outline will help you keep all your ideas organized, and make sure that you have covered all necessary points. You can either start with one of your best points and work your way down, or start with a less important point and work your way up. Either method works well for most people, but find what is most comfortable for you and go with it.

Write your thesis statement
Your thesis statement is the backbone of your paper. It should be a sentence that contains your topic and indicates what you plan to argue or explain. You should use your thesis statement as a roadmap to guide yourself throughout the writing process.  Remember, if you have a strong thesis statement, it’s easy to write an essay that flows logically and convincingly because you know where you’re going with your argument and can just get on with it! So keep this in mind when brainstorming ideas for a good one.

Write your body paragraphs
Your body paragraphs should include three or four sentences each. In your first sentence, state your thesis, which is the central argument of your essay and what you want your reader to take away from it. In your second sentence, introduce a supporting example of your thesis that you will use for the rest of this paragraph. Be sure to use strong evidence and give plenty of details to prove your point.

Write your conclusion
Your conclusion should summarize what you've discussed. A strong concluding paragraph will convince the reader that your essay is worth reading and will leave them wanting more. This can be done by explaining how your perspective differs from others, how it has changed since this experience, or by offering a new point of view on the topic. If necessary, offer suggestions for further reading or research to readers who might not have encountered this idea before (e.g., For those who are interested in learning more about this topic).

Edit and proofread
Editing and proofreading are both very important. The editing process is about getting your paper down to what you want it to say and how you want it to say it. The proofreading process is about finding any mistakes that may have been missed during the editing process. Proofread carefully and make sure there are no mistakes in spelling, grammar, punctuation, or word usage.
