The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) are pleased to invite you to the 55th PATA Annual Conference (PAC06). PAC06 will take place April 23-27, 2006 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Following the success of the 54th PATA Annual Conference hosted by the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is enthusiastically preparing a most warm welcome for delegates to next year’s event.

The following three factors stand out among many as important reasons why you should get right behind this important PATA event:

  • Networking and contacts: PATA Annual Conference is the only major travel and tourism industry event that draws public-sector, private-sector, corporate and institutional travel and tourism industry leaders in a spirit of true friendship, solidarity and partnership. PAC consistently delivers the very best in industry networking opportunities. For PATA members and friends, PAC06 is a must-attend event.

  • Destination and tours: The host destination for PAC06, the beach resort city of Pattaya, has changed considerably over the past 10 years, and is now gearing up to take advantage of the opportunities presented by Suvarnabumi Airport. The new airport is located between Pattaya and Bangkok, making Pattaya that much more accessible to Thailand’s international visitors. Thus, Pattaya is a case study of the interaction between change and opportunity and is the perfect venue for PAC06, which is themed “Changing Lifestyles – New Opportunities”. The PAC06 Thailand Host Committee will also put together a series of very attractive tour programme, which will be posted on PATA web site at later stage.

  • Education and insight: In line with the theme, the Conference programme will offer delegates great insights into changing lifestyles and the opportunities they present to travel and tourism stakeholders. Topics and market niches to be explored at the Conference include baby boomers, medical tourism, gay travel, adrenalin experiences, celebrity sightseeing, technological impacts, young Asians, “voluntourism” and much more. Delegates can look forward to a focused programme of educational sessions and workshops, each of which will have a direct relationship to the Conference theme
