From Russia With Fun – the Magic World Russia Project

California based Moschanko Investment Group (MIG 2000) today announced the launch of a major theme park, Magic World Russia. In collaboration with Gary Goddard and other leading edge creatives, Gennady Moshkovich’s envisioned resort will cater to families across Russia and Eurasia.

Moshkovich, a Beverly Hills, California investor and entrepreneur, has established his company as the tip of the California-Russia bilateral relations sword. This most recent entry into the tourism sector represents a massive initiative. A departure from his energy sector and technologies engagements, Magic World Russia never the less shines with some of the best talent in the world, Gary Goddard of Disney, Spielberg, design world fame, being the most prevalent.

According to the news, Magic World Russia will offer a “day visitor” and a family vacation aspect for Russia citizens and travelers. The park will be laid out across some 600 prime acres near Moscow, and include all the usual themed amenities such as; multiple theme park concepts, hotels, dining and entertainment venues, and retail shops, just to name a few. The collaboration between the this developmental consortium, is a first where a US and Russia development of this kind is concerned. And, the park itself will be the first ever in Russian Federation, on this scale.

The estimated $2.5 billion dollar project will create thousands of jobs in Russia, as well as hundreds more in California. The developers also predict the theme park will attract upwards of 20 million visitors a year, a near perfect economic pill for the Russian Federation as the country gears up for Sochi 2014, and FIFA World Cup 2018. Gary Goddard had this to say about the development:

"We are thrilled to be a part of the Magic World Russia California consortium. It has the kind of grand scale and unique creative concepts that drive our imagination and compel our involvement. To be at the center of Russia”s first world class theme park is both an honor and an exciting challenge."

On a special note, Magic World Russia breaks ground where forward thinking is concerned too. This will be the first major initiative in Russia where an entire themed aspect will be devoted to special needs children. The venue, called World Without Boundaries, will be the product of world leading special needs developers striving to build something of lasting and memorable value for these kids. No other development we know of in the Federation, goes so far to help the disabled share experiences.

Magic World Russia will include a number of other major themed attractions including: a Hollywood studio-branded park, a Magic Family Park, adult and family water parks, Nanopolis Children’s Park, Park Russia (a refined cultural and experiential attraction), a Thrill Ride Park; an Extreme Sports Park, a Winter Garden Magic Fountain Park, and the Russian equivalent of Main Street USA at Walt Disney World – St. Petersburg City Street.

For those unfamiliar with Gary Goddard, CEO and Chairman of award winning Goddard Group, his efforts and oversight have been applied to projects from Universal Studios and Six Flags Corporation, to Caesar’s Palace, Warner Bros. and the Paramount Parks. Other Magic World Russia collaborators include; Dave Schmitt of ProFun Management Group (leading them park Operations Company), Brooks Branch and Danny Kaplan of (it) Brand Studios (creative), and other leading industry professionals.

Besides being the first such initiative of its kind in the Russian Federation, this announcement has obvious implications where inbound and internal Russia travel are concerned. It’s interesting to note the role of MIG 2000’s COO, Jonathan Zilli. Before joining MIG 2000, Zilli Oldstone Media Advisors, ground breaking innovators in applying entertainment and media onto commercially viable projects such as Magic World Russia. And, his former positions with MGM/UA and Paramount, are a template for paving the way for future Russia ventures, or at least it would seem.
