Caribbean-influenced Candela MAREA is now available as a luxurious all-inclusive offering throughout elevated food and beverage experiences aboard Evrima.
MIAMI, FL – Candela Mamajuana Spiced Rum announce the debut of Candela MAREA, a bespoke limited-edition rum crafted exclusively for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. Drawing inspiration from the elegant yachting lifestyle and vibrant Caribbean flavors, Candela MAREA blends premium, extra-aged Gran Reserva Dominican rum with all-natural, locally sourced ingredients. The exceptional rum is now available to guests aboard Evrima, the first of three custom-built superyachts from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
“We are delighted for the extraordinary opportunity to introduce our distinctive flavors to the world’s most discerning travelers on board Evrima,” said Alejandro Russo, CEO and Co-Founder of Candela Mamajuana. “The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection offers unmatched travel experiences for guests, and our mission to share the most premium flavors and ingredients of Dominican rum aligns perfectly with their world-class standards.”
Candela MAREA promises an indulgent experience drawing from the rich cultures and traditions of the Caribbean. Expertly blended in the Dominican Republic, the ultra-premium spiced rum is
made using ingredients free of artificial colors or flavors, which include extra-aged Gran Reserva rum, honey and spices. Its smooth sweet taste, enveloping aromas of rosewood and honey, and long, warming spice finish, immerse guests in the essence of serene waters and the relaxed ambiance of yachting.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Candela to offer our guests the chance to savor authentic Caribbean flavors through an exclusive rum,” said Ivan Ortega, Director of Food & Beverage of
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. “Collaborating with visionary partners such as Candela allows us to curate indulgent experiences with coveted delights like MAREA, taking the guest journey
to unparalleled heights.”
Produced alongside Candela Mamajuana Spiced Rum, Candela MAREA is distilled from fresh-pressed local sugarcane juice, utilizing a process powered by renewable energy. This energy is sourced from the sugarcane bagasse, which is upcycled into biofuel at a waste-to-energy plant on the island. The rum is then aged in American oak barrels. Candela Mamajuana’s aging facility features a rainwater collection system which feeds the water purification plant, along with lamps and intelligent building materials that naturally cool the building without the need for air conditioning. These eco-conscious practices have led Candela Mamajuana to being named “The World’s Most Sustainable Rum” by the DailyMail UK.
Guests can discover the extra-aged rum throughout the yacht’s diverse culinary venues and bars. Whether enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in specialty cocktails such as the Crow’s Nest–a tropical libation paying homage to Caribbean voyages with Candela MAREA, Campari, pineapple, and lime – travelers are immersed in a world of exquisite flavors. To further enhance the experience, the yacht features The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection x Candela MAREA Drip Tower, an elegant glass tower utilizing slow-drip technology to produce complex, aromatic cocktails.
The creation of Candela Mamajuana Spiced Rum arose from the vision of co-founders and mother-son duo, Lillian Arinoviche and Alejandro Russo, tapping into their entrepreneurial, fashion and leadership backgrounds. Together, they’ve established a brand that has gained widespread recognition for making the Dominican Republic’s renowned traditional beverage a household name. Recognized as “The Unofficial Drink of the Dominican Republic” by Fodor’s Travel, Candela Mamajuana has attracted attention from notable publications such as Forbes, People en Español, Us Weekly, InTouch, NBC, Men’s Journal, Sports Illustrated Swim, TODAY.com and others. Over the past year, Candela Mamajuana has become the fastest-growing super premium spiced rum in the state of Florida with 35% growth. Distribution has continued to grow at an even faster pace with 576% growth in accounts sold.
