TravelCar launches free parking solution at Chicago O’Hare adding to growing list of US airports

New mobility option provides greater convenience and makes transportation to and from airport more affordable.

LOS ANGELES – TravelCar, the global innovator in airport parking and carsharing for travelers, announced it has expanded its US presence with the addition of Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). This marks the third location for TravelCar offering its free airport parking solution which provides travelers free airport parking and helps them earn money by renting out their car to other travelers while they are away.

Chicagoans have been quick to adapt to the sharing economy, whether with bike sharing, home sharing and now car sharing. TravelCar's innovative car sharing platform and technology will help transform the way people think about getting to and from the airport in Chicago. While shuttles, private transfers and buses are still common practice, they are expensive. TravelCar's high quality, low cost mobility options, for both the person parking at the airport and renting a car at the airport, means travelers can spend less on transportation needs and have more in their pocket.

"Parking at O'Hare can cost as much as $17 a day. If you're traveling for a week, that can add up," said Ahmed Mhiri, CEO of TravelCar. "Just in time for the holidays, we're pleased to bring our free airport parking solution to Chicagoans and all Midwesterners flying in and out of O'Hare."

TravelCar, founded in Paris, France in 2012, launched in the United States this summer and rapidly expanded to 50 domestic markets, as well as Canada, with its paid airport parking offerings. The successful reception of its Los Angeles and San Francisco operations proved travelers are interested in a free parking and car sharing solution as a way to save on hefty airport parking fees. With three car sharing markets successfully under its belt, TravelCar plans to continue its aggressive expansion with 20 additional US markets next year. And with paid parking in 50 countries, TravelCar will add at least 15 additional countries in 2018, while continuing to increase its footprint in both United States and Canada.
