The two companies are consolidating to strengthen respective growth strategies.

DUSSELDORF – The Lindner Hotel Group (LHG) takes over the operation of five hotels previously managed by the 12.18. Group (12.18.). LHG’s portfolio will grow from two to four brands. 12.18. will focus on real estate activities. Both companies consider the merger to be another milestone in their respective growth strategies.

The takeover strengthens LHG’s position as an operator and lessee of hotel real estate. In addition to expanding its brand portfolio, it is now active in three other countries: Italy, UK and USA. “The integration marks the next chapter in our strategic direction,” commented Arno Schwalie, CEO of the Lindner Hotel Group. “We are growing with a clearly differentiated multi-brand strategy and are strengthening our position in the European leisure market.”

As a result of the takeover, LHG will increase its turnover by around 90 million euros and add more than 1,000 rooms to its portfolio. LHG will now operate 35 hotels in eight European countries and the USA, with six additional hotels in the pipeline. LHG will employ around 2,500 people and expects to generate revenue of around 330 million euros in 2024. With 33 of those hotels operating under Hyatt brands, this merger also poses a great opportunity to strengthen LHG’s relationship and drive further growth with the leading global hospitality company.

12.18. focuses on real estate activities

12.18. focuses on acquiring, developing, and repositioning hotel real estate and providing asset management services to its capital partners. “Going forward, we will no longer operate hotels ourselves. However, at LHG, we have a strong partner with whom we will work closely on the operation of hotels. 12.18. can continue to offer our capital partners a comprehensive portfolio of services ranging from acquisition and conception, financing, development and repositioning to the operation and sale of hotel real estate,” said Adrian Lindner, Managing Director of 12.18. Asset Management. “As we did in the past, we will continue to decide on each property’s operating concept individually to find the best fit and also work with external operators and brands, next to our partnership with LHG.”

Four strong brands under one roof

Currently, LHG operates hotels and resorts under the two brands Lindner Hotels & Resorts and me and all hotels. Following LHG’s exclusive collaboration agreement with Hyatt announced in 2022, Lindner Hotels & Resorts and me and all hotels are part of the JdV by Hyatt brand –a collection of independent hotels with unique personalities and a true reflection of their locations.

Tradition and innovation come together at the multi-award-winning Lindner Hotels & Resorts. From business hotels with modern meeting facilities to theme-hotels, luxurious spas, golf resorts, and city spots, they combine hospitality with passion, sporting passion, and indulgence to perfection. LHG repositioned the brand with its 24 hotels already in 2023.

With their inspiring design, casual flair, and focus on sustainability, the urban boutique hotels of the me and all hotels brand in central locations of exciting cities appeal primarily to city and business travellers and to urban locals who want to combine living, working, and celebrating. Local partners from the gastronomy-, music- and art scene and the start-up world are constantly creating new experiences with pop-up kitchens, events, and sustainable products. The brand is developing dynamically: six me and all hotels are in operation, and an additional six are in planning.

With the 12.18. hotels, LHG is now taking over exceptional hotels and resorts in the leisure segment and expanding its brand portfolio with two further brands: 7Pines Hotels & Resorts and L-Collection.

Both 7Pines Resort on Ibiza and Sardinia are among the most beautiful hotel destinations in the Mediterranean. 7Pines Hotels & Resorts offers laidback luxury and lifestyle experiences that focus on each guest’s wishes and well-being. The unique promise of 7Pines Hotels & Resorts is the extraordinary experiences that enrich the stay in each destination and create unforgettable moments that guests will remember. The brand is also set to grow significantly. It is already part of the Destination by Hyatt collection.

The L-Collection has been newly created to include the other hotels previously operated by 12.18, all of them being individual, high-class properties such as SCHLOSS Roxburghe (Scottish Borders/UK), Hotel Stadt Hamburg (Sylt/Germany) and San Carlos Hotel (New York/USA). Each of them has its own distinguished identity and character. What they all have in common is the commitment to first-class hospitality and exclusive experiences. From cozy family holidays surrounded by nature to city breaks with the vibrant energy and urban flair of their respective cities.

Both 7Pines Resort on Ibiza and Sardinia, along with SCHLOSS Roxburghe in Scotland, are part of Destination by Hyatt, a collection of independent hotels individual by design yet connected by a commitment to capture the true essence of each locale.

“With our international portfolio of four brands, we have a differentiated and broad offering that makes us more attractive to various stakeholders such as guests, talent, project developers, and landlords,”commented Jörg Lindner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LHG and Managing Partner of 12.18 Group.
