Adare Manor Castle & Golf Resort wins 2014 Platinum Partner Award from Incentive Magazine

Adare Manor Castle & Golf Resort appears in the current issue of Incentive Magazine, which highlights winners in multiple categories.

ADARE VILLAGE, Co. LIMERICK, IRELAND – Adare Manor Castle & Golf Resort, located near Limerick and Shannon International Airport, has received the Platinum Partner Award for 2014 by readers of Incentive Magazine. The coveted award is given each year to properties globally that are considered top in their industry and destination as determined by readers of Incentive Magazine. This readership includes senior corporate executives throughout the United States who plan motivational programs for their dealers, distributors, employees and customers. Incentive Magazine has been publishing for 100 years.

“It is such a thrill for us to receive this award,” said Anita Higgins, General Manager.  “The incentive meetings market is extremely important to our business and to our success.  To be recognized in this way by our US customers is particularly gratifying.”

Adare Manor Castle & Golf Resort appears in the current issue of Incentive Magazine, which highlights winners in multiple categories. Already a five-star resort by the luxury leisure traveling public, this is the first time Adare Manor Castle & Golf Resort was awarded the Platinum Partner Award.

Adare Manor Castle is an ideal incentive meeting venue. The resort offers four meeting and event rooms with a capacity of up to 200 guests theatre style. Adare’s expert event planners can ensure every meeting is personalized to the exact needs and requirements of the incentive group while lending a distinctive Royal estate experience – such as greeting a group arriving through the Castle’s gates with a team dressed in livery and on horses with traditional hunting hounds in tow. Superb cuisine is ensured through the culinary excellence of Adare’s acclaimed Executive Chef Mark Donohue. With 840 acres and a former deer park, estate activities abound for incentive meeting groups. These range from championship golf on Ireland’s #1 parkland course to falconry, archery, clay pigeon shooting, Irish whiskey & wine tastings, fishing with the resort’s Ghillie Jim Robinson, to unique teambuilding programs and even luxury yachting.

The former castle was until the 1980s the country seat of the Earl of Dunraven. The second Earl also created adjacent Adare Village in the early 1800s for housing the estate’s staff. Today Adare Village is one of Ireland’s most cherished and picturesque destinations with its charming thatched-roof cottages.

In 1987, the Adare Manor Castle was converted into a five star hotel, golf resort and spa.  Later Adare Manor added nine two & four bedroom townhouses and 42 exquisite three & four bedroom villas to the resort, which along with the subsequent addition of eight Clubhouse guestrooms in the estate’s Carriage House brought the total resort guestroom count to its current 220.

Adare Manor is a unique “Calendar House,” resplendent with architectural references to the days of the week & year (7 stone columns in the reception hall, 365 stained glass windows), and weeks of the month & year (4 roof-top towers, 52 chimneys). The estate, through which flows the River Maigue, features an exquisite French formal garden, the oldest Cedar of Lebanon tree in the British Isles dating back to 1645, ancient stone monuments, and a spacious Victorian Walled Garden.  Inside are sumptuously appointed staterooms, bedroom chambers & suites, as well as the original carved oak-paneled dining room, the library containing books original to the estate, and the extraordinary Minstrel’s Gallery – one of Ireland’s grandest ballrooms.
