Aloft brand plans to debut in Sarasota, Florida in August 2015

Opening in August 2015, Aloft Sarasota brings leading-edge design, live music and innovative technologies to the area.

STAMFORD, CONN. – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced that its leading-edge Aloft brand plans to debut in Sarasota, Florida in August 2015. Owned by a joint venture between JWM One Palm Avenue, LLC and iStar Financial, Aloft Sarasota will offer 139 spacious, loft-like rooms, urban-influenced design and a vibrant, social atmosphere.

“We look forward to introducing Aloft to Sarasota, our seventh Aloft in the state, catering to the next generation of travelers with initiatives in music, design and technology,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “Aloft is on track to open its 100th hotel in 2014, fueled by rising demand among savvy travelers who appreciate the brand’s distinctive design, innovative programs and partnerships and buzzing social scene.”

Located at One Palm Avenue, Aloft Sarasota will be walking distance to the Florida Studio Theatre, Sarasota Opera House, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, the Florida State College of Medicine – Sarasota campus, and numerous shops and restaurants. Guests will enjoy easy access to the city’s beaches and leading attractions such as the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and Mote Marine Aquarium. Hotel amenities will include an outdoor Splash pool, W XYZ bar, 24-hour fitness center and 610 square feet of flexible meeting space, ideal for both business meetings and social gatherings.
