AT&T enhanced push-to-talk offers more devices, features and functionality than ever before

Hospitality companies embrace Push-to-Talk (PTT) for fast, reliable communication; New customer incentive to switch from legacy CDMA networks.

DALLAS – AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk (EPTT) is more versatile and feature-rich than ever before for field workers. AT&T EPTT offers businesses a larger selection of accessories and devices, more flexibility when migrating from older legacy CDMA push-to-talk systems, and greater control of their workforce with AT&T’s Integrated Dispatch solution.

Increasingly, hotels, cruise lines, and resorts are choosing AT&T EPTT to give their employees a reliable way to communicate. Unlike two-way radios, AT&T EPTT can help individuals and groups communicate using a variety of different smartphone and rugged devices. Hospitality companies can connect workers in several different departments such as the concierge, shuttles, housekeeping, maintenance, security and guest services.

For Marriott, the benefits of using AT&T EPTT devices extend across a wide variety of job functions. While all users benefit from the ability to go back and forth between cellular and Wi-Fi networks to always stay connected, those with corporate job functions can use their preferred smartphones, and those in maintenance or housekeeping can choose from a rugged device. Because AT&T EPTT devices have no range sensitivity, Marriott drivers can easily and reliably communicate while on trips. Managers can use the voice override feature to handle emergencies.

Customer Incentive: AT&T is making it even easier for businesses to migrate to the AT&T solution from legacy CDMA push-to-talk networks. For a limited time, AT&T offers users who migrate to AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk will receive a $100 bill credit.1

The latest version of AT&T EPTT features:

  • More than 60 EPTT accessories available: AT&T provides businesses with a comprehensive solution for noisy, discreet, and some hazardous work environments. Workers can communicate hands-free using remote speaker microphones or wireless headsets and drivers can simply press a foot pedal to communicate to other colleagues in the field.
  • AT&T EPTT can be used on more than 30 devices, including tablets, smartphones, rugged flip phones, and Wi-Fi only devices, which is more than any other PTT service. Businesses can expect more devices such as the Samsung Rugby® 4, a new Wi-Fi enabled rugged2 flip phone expected to be available for AT&T EPTT in 2014.
  • AT&T EPTT with Integrated Dispatch provides companies with a dashboard view of deployed resources in near real time. Through a single screen, dispatch managers can better monitor location, record conversations, and issue alerts to EPTT users.
  • Talk Group Select allows users who are part of multiple talk groups to select a primary talk group or channel to focus on the most important business process in a given moment.

In addition, AT&T and Raytheon are working together to further expand the reach of AT&T EPTT, giving businesses the option to integrate their push to talk solution with traditional Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. With this capability, field workers can access AT&T EPTT with a smartphone, rugged device or LMR.3
