Benchmark announced the appointment of Becky Melchi, CMP, as director of sales for Wingspread Retreat & Executive Conference Center and of Judy Spooner, director of finance for High Hampton Resort.
THE WOODLANDS (HOUSTON), TEXAS – Benchmark, a global hospitality company, has announced the appointment of Becky Melchi, CMP, as director of sales for Wingspread Retreat & Executive Conference Center, the landmark Frank Lloyd Wright property located in Racine, Wisconsin. The appointment represents a promotion within the Benchmark organization for Ms. Melchi. Chris Steffich, Benchmark’s general manager at Wingspread, made the announcement.

Becky Melchi previously held the position of senior sales manager for The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa, a 334-guest room property operated by Benchmark and located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where she specialized in the national corporate and association markets. She served as remote senior sales manager targeting the same markets for Benchmark’s Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Chicago and for Benchmark’s National Sales team, experiencing tremendous success in achieving sales goals and placing within the prestigious Benchmark Platinum Club.
Prior to joining Benchmark, Ms. Melchi held senior-level sales positions for Oakbrook Hills Resort & Conference Center and Sheraton Four Points O’Hare Chicago. She attended St. Francis College of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Ms. Melchi has been active with Meeting Professionals International for many years. She resides in Lake Geneva.

Also Benchmark has named Judy Spooner director of finance for High Hampton Resort. The property, located in Cashiers, North Carolina, is a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property. Tom Garcia, Benchmark’s vice president and general manager at the resort, made the announcement.
“I am so pleased to welcome Judy to High Hampton Resort,” said Mr. Garcia. “She brings an important financial background in residential real estate and resort management to her new role with us. We welcome her to our leadership team.”
Judy Spooner was previously director of finance for The Landings Association, overseeing a private residential community located in Savannah, Georgia. Prior to this she worked in finance at an Architecture/Design firm and earlier she served as Controller for several American Golf properties on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Ms. Spooner is a graduate of Pace University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She resides in Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, with her rescue dogs and cats.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
