Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Michael Bublitz as controller for Stonewall Resort, the award-winning property located in Roanoke, West Virginia. Floyd Hunter, general manager, made the announcement.
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Michael to Benchmark Hospitality at Stonewall Resort,” stated Mr. Hunter. “He brings diverse professional experience to his new role, including working with golf clubs, dude ranches, independent hotels and international brands.”
A native of Maribel, Wisconsin, near Green Bay. Michael Bublitz began his hospitality career in the early 1990s at Rancho de los Caballeros, a golf club and dude ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona. Since then he has been affiliated with a variety of independent hotels and inns, as well as global brands such as Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Hilton and Marriott Hotels & Resorts. Mr. Bublitz held various positions of increasing responsibility throughout his early career. In 1997, he was appointed to his first position as controller at the Holiday Inn Midtown, in Phoenix.
Michael Bublitz is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Morehead State University, located in Morehead, Kentucky, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. During his academic years, Mr. Bublitz had the unusual privilege to be a Graduate Assistant and teach classes to fellow undergraduate students. Bublitz, who is 7’ tall, is an avid basketball fan. He and his family have relocated to Bridgeport, West Virginia.
