Chateau de la Resle hoteliers to present eponymous design label in Milan

The Chateau de la Resle collection consists of exclusive, and some one-off and limited edition pieces created by designers whom Bouman and Franssens have worked with on projects for the hotel since it opened its doors in 2010.

BERLIN – Following its premiere at the 2013 Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, design label Chateau de la Resle will be exhibiting at Milan’s illustrious Spazio Rossana Orlandi showroom. The entire collection will be on display for the duration of the design fair Salone Internazionale del Mobile April 8-13.

Crowning a hill in the winemaking region of Burgundy, the six-room Design Hotels member, Chateau de la Resle has the charm and personality of a well-loved private home. Adding to the property’s aesthetic appeal is the collection of contemporary art and design, sourced from around the world. With their relationship to celebrated designers and expert eye for objets d’arts, it was a natural progression for Dutch hoteliers, Johan Bouman and Pieter Franssens to launch their own design label, duly named after the hotel.

The Chateau de la Resle collection consists of exclusive, and some one-off and limited edition pieces created by designers whom Bouman and Franssens have worked with on projects for the hotel since it opened its doors in 2010. “Being originally from the Netherlands, it seemed an obvious choice for us to specialize in Dutch design, despite the fact that Chateau de la Resle is a French label”, explains Bouman. “The collection is our way of sharing unique designs with people who have the same passions as we do be it art, design, architecture or culture.”

Pieces from Chateau de la Resle on display at the exhibition include the Montigny, a limited edition dresser – of only eight pieces – by celebrated designer Roderick Vos. Design studio De Intuitiefabriek have created Limoges porcelain tableware including a limited hand-painted edition in gold. Known for his innovative use of materials and techniques, Jeroen Wand reinvents traditional luggage with a suitcase, briefcase and vanity case, all limited to 50 pieces each. Also presented will be a series of lights by Kranen/Gille and Reinier Bosch and glassware by Carolina Wilcke and Daphna Laurens.

The Spazio Rossana Orlandi showroom and gallery is housed in a former tie factory in the Magenta neighborhood in Milan. The brainchild of Rossana Orlandi, it has become a mecca for design aficionados since opening in 2002.

Exclusive Offer for Design Hotels Community
To celebrate the exhibition, Chateau de la Resle is offering members of the Design Hotels Community a 15% discount on all products from their online design shop. Membership to the Design Hotels Community is free and benefits include: exclusive invitations to Community events; free breakfast, WIFI, and up to 50% off at selected hotels; 500 award miles with Lufthansa Miles & More on every stay. The Chateau de la Resle offer will be launched in early April to coincide with the exhibition and run until June 1, 2014.
