With an investment of approximately $5 million by developer SH Group dedicated to the construction of large complexes, this renovation has prepared the property to exceed guest and visitor expectations. It also reinforces the developer’s partnership with Marriott International, which together have launched and operated several properties in the region in countries such as Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
Marriott International and the Owners Association seek to contribute to the Dominican Republic tourism industry’s continued recovery with this ambitious investment and product that follows all of the measures established by the brand’s “Commitment to Clean.”

The renovation began at the end of 2020 with the improvement of the property’s public spaces: guest rooms, corridors, exteriors, facade, restaurants, pool area, gym, outdoor terrace and functional rooms. With its minimal design that combines natural materials and colors that reflect the destination, the Courtyard by Marriott Santo Domingo invites travelers to discover the wonders of the Dominican-coined “mother of all lands” during each stay.
The property’s new guest rooms feature sophisticated desk and sofa furnishings that meet the business traveler’s work space needs. The multi-purpose lobby can now serve as a space for team breakfasts, client cocktail meetings and more. The Kitchen and Bar Restaurant offers an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, while Crate functions as an indoor convenience store with elevated “grab & go” options.
Located on Avenida Máximo Gómez, of the National District, the Courtyard by Marriott Santo Domingo opened its doors 19 years ago and was a pioneer in the development of the selected business service within the market.
