Holiday Inn Resort Aruba $20 million renovation nears completion

Comprehensive upgrades across entire property to debut mid-December 2013, adding enhanced style and refinement to Aruba’s best resort vacation value.

MIAMI – The 597-room Holiday Inn Resort Aruba, the largest Holiday Inn resort property in the Caribbean and the largest hotel in Aruba, announced that it is entering the final phase of its comprehensive $20 million refurbishment program on-schedule with all work projected to be completed in mid-December 2013. The most ambitious product upgrade in the history of the venerable resort extends to all corners of the property. Highlights include the addition of a new pool and Jacuzzi, a completely re-designed lobby area, new restaurant dining options, an all-new spa and fitness center, and full-scale remodeling of all guestrooms.

“IHG has truly stepped up to the plate in remaking the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba into a stylish, sophisticated property that aligns perfectly with Aruba’s standing as a first class destination,” said Jorge Landa, General Manager, Holiday Inn Resort Aruba. “All of us at the resort, together with our design and construction consultants, are busy putting the final touches on an absolutely amazing transformation that I’m proud to say will be completed on time ahead of the peak winter travel season.”

Renovations began in September 2012 with the temporary closure and full remake of the 215-room Sea Tower. Enhancements to guest rooms and common areas here would serve as a model for the remainder of the property as modern styling and new furnishings were combined with complimentary Wi-Fi and 37” LCD televisions for added comfort and convenience. A new zero-entry freeform swimming pool and Jacuzzi were also added to the Sea Tower, complimenting the existing pool area and Jacuzzi off the main building between the Ocean and Palm Towers.

Complete renovations of 199-room Ocean and 183-room Palm towers followed, with a new fitness center and state-of-the-art Etnika Spa added as well. This full-service spa facility features a wide range of relaxing, therapeutic massages and treatments from around the world highlighted by the unique Desert Bloom, an Aruban Aloe treatment.

Banquet and meeting facilities have also been upgraded, as have food and beverage options. All three existing restaurants – Da Vinci Ristorante, Seabreeze Restaurant & Bar, and Corals Family Restaurant – have been completely renovated, while new dining options – Pizza Now!, the Oceanside Bar & Grill, and the Palm Bar located in the main lobby –have been added, offering guests more choice than ever before.

“Holiday Inn is a familiar and very well-trusted name in Aruba. We’re building upon that great tradition with an all-new resort product tailored to meet the demands and high standards of today’s modern traveler. We look forward to hosting many future generations of leisure travelers seeking the vacation of a lifetime at a great value,” said Landa.
