HostelBookers celebrates Facebook milestone

HostelBookers uses their Facebook page as a communication channel for customers with questions or issues. They partner with top travel photographers, bloggers and companies to develop the travel community as a whole.

LONDON – Upon reaching the milestone of 100,000 likes on their company Facebook page this week, David Smith, COO of HostelBookers, the budget accommodation specialist, shares his thoughts on the importance of Social Media.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank our fantastic community of travellers for liking, commenting and sharing with HostelBookers throughout the years we’ve been on Facebook. You’ve made our page what it is today, and we will strive to continue to make this page an even better place for those who love travel to talk with us and each other.

We’re very proud at being the first budget accommodation provider to have 100,000 likes. Our online travel community is important for HostelBookers, building a vital bridge between our brand and our customers. We aim to inspire and amuse, but mostly engage with our customers, and that means listening to them as much as talking to them. Social Media is forcing companies to be more accessible to their users, those who embrace the community are getting good results and our success is there for all to see.”

HostelBookers uses their Facebook page as a communication channel for customers with questions or issues. They partner with top travel photographers, bloggers and companies to develop the travel community as a whole. They also run regular features and competitions which result in a very high engagement level, currently at 30% according to Facebook insights.
