Hotel Cleveland features 491 guest rooms including 50 suites, a sophisticated new lobby punctuated by carefully retained historic features. Its 59,000 square feet of meeting space includes 30 distinctive spaces and three ballrooms, one of which is the largest Marriott ballroom in Ohio at 22,590 square feet.

Cleveland – Following an impressive $90 million restoration and nearly a decade of careful planning, Hotel Cleveland, Autograph Collection and its monumental renovation nearly complete at 24 Public Square in Downtown Cleveland. Beyond being restored to its former glory, the project moves this historic American icon into the future with the contemporary refinements this important architectural treasure and its guests deserve. Plans are underway for an early June Grand Opening for Hotel Cleveland, formally Cleveland Renaissance Hotel.

Property-wide, stunning new interior design beautifully reflects the city’s steel-clad resolve, its warmth of community and its present-day charisma, all of which are Exactly Like Nothing Else. State-of-the-art, ergonomic workspaces and free Wi-Fi in all meeting and public areas, as well as guestrooms and suites, are de rigueur.

Two new restaurants will fully embrace the Cleveland spirit, including Maker, destined to quickly become the city’s hottest spot for lunch, happy hours or dinner. Unmatched views of Public Square paint a vibrant backdrop for chic décor, buttery leather seating, bespoke lamps shaded with vintage Cuyahoga riverfront images and an eyepopping backbar. A massive green crystal chandelier dazzles overhead, telling guests how special this place has been — and always will be — to Cleveland. Uber talented chef teams are putting finishing touches on Maker’s menu of small plates and shareable dishes, along with imaginative entrees and sides — all envisioned through a distinctively Cleveland lens. An artisanal emphasis on craft cocktails and culinary alcohol-free concoctions will make Maker the place to gather or unwind. The Mowrey’s moniker gives a nod to the site’s original 1800s tavern, which will soon offer ala carte American-style breakfast favorites with very special Cleveland twists. Mowrey’s will also be available for tucked-away private dining experiences. Both Maker and Mowrey’s begin soft opening the week of April 21, with a full restaurant opening date expected to be announced that week.

More than just a place to stay, gather and dine, Hotel Cleveland is a living narrative that not only celebrates the city, but is shaped by the same dynamics that built Cleveland itself. The hotel brings its storied past into the now with every guest taking part in the city’s unfolding story.

Everyone has a story or memory connected to Hotel Cleveland and the other hospitality pioneers that stood at this address, and we’ve been collecting their stories and memories,” said Hotel Cleveland General Manager Frank McGee. “One of the many ways we embody this extraordinary city is by sharing those stories with guests as they move through the space, creating truly special moments for them.” McGee added that Clevelanders and past guests alike are encouraged to continue sharing their experiences at the hotel via its social media or website contact link.

From presidents and royalty to rock stars and sports legends, the Hotel Cleveland and its predecessors have hosted some of the world’s most prominent travelers. Luminaries like Martin Luther King, Duke Ellington, Charles Lindbergh, Harry Truman and Eleanor Roosevelt have visited. Another finishing touch being added uses the latest NFC code medallion technology to allow guests to stand before historic imagery and be transported to the city’s – and the nation’s – most important moments. During The Beatles’ 1964 stay, for example, police were called when mobs of fans surrounded the hotel. This and other stories add to the richness of the Hotel Cleveland experience. As one of the 30-plus brands under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, Autograph Collection is all about creating a product of passion, inspired by a clear vision, soul and story — making it a most fitting next chapter for Hotel Cleveland. Supporting the brand’s mission, the property and its staff help guests immerse themselves in the destination and its stories through its distinct perspective on design and hospitality.

As a newly minted member of Autograph Collection, guests of Hotel Cleveland can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points during their stays and enjoy all the benefits of staying as a member.
