The Hotel Inter-Continental<.> Doha has teamed up with Qatar Airways to promote Qatar as a tourism destination for business and leisure travellers from the UK.

At a joint function at the Hotel Inter-Continental London, senior management from the Hotel Inter-Continental Doha and Qatar Airways addressed more than 25 top UK-based travel agents and tour operators, highlighting the country`s many attractions and the strong infrastructure for visitors. Familiarisation trips with international tour operators are now being planned.

This event provided the opportunity to clarify certain issues and concerns of the invitees, several of which will be raised with the Supreme Council of Tourism in Doha, said Johnny A Fattaleh, general manager, Hotel Inter-Continental Doha and regional vice-president, operations, Bass Hotels & Resorts, Northern Gulf.

Overall, I am optimistic about the future of tourism in Qatar and I believe that we will soon see the results of our hard work.

The hotel is one of 110 Inter-Continental properties managed by Bass Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East and Africa. The company will open its second property in Qatar, the Holiday Inn Doha, in December.
