Islamorada’s Amara Cay resort re-opens following Hurricane Irma

Recognized in November as a ‘Top Resort in the Florida Keys’ by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler, Amara Cay Resort will open its 110 guestrooms and suites, a new resort pool, wedding venues, Reelburger restaurant and resort grounds with kitschy games and lush lawns.

ISLAMORADA, FLA. – Amara Cay Resort, the oceanfront beach resort anchored in the laid-back style and lighthearted atmosphere of Islamorada, is set to re-open its doors on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 after closing for repairs following Hurricane Irma. Perfectly aligning with the official end of hurricane season, Amara Cay Resort celebrates the strength of the Florida Keys.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests back to our slice of paradise,” said Eddie Sipple, area general manager of Islamorada Resort Company. “I am incredibly grateful to the dedicated team of construction workers and associates who worked diligently to restore Amara Cay Resort. We are re-opening this resort with pride and a true sense of community.”

Recognized in November as a ‘Top Resort in the Florida Keys’ by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler, Amara Cay Resort will open its 110 guestrooms and suites, a beautiful new resort pool, spectacular wedding venues, Reelburger restaurant and resort grounds with kitschy games and lush lawns.

Inspired by Islamorada’s claim to fame as the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World,” Reelburger’s all-day dining menu presents gourmet burgers, hearty “burger bowl” salads and social starters. Handcrafted burgers with unique toppings and condiments are sandwiched between toasted brioche buns and served alongside a crunchy pickle and choice of kettle chips, signature, house-made slaw or crispy hand cut fries, perfectly seasoned with truffle sea salt and fresh herbs. The craftsmanship focused on the food continues behind the bar with a well-rounded list of tiki and craft cocktails, specialty shakes, beer and premium wine.

The chic yet understated resort rests along the Atlantic Ocean presenting lush lawns and palm-peppered, graceful views making an authentic sense of place with comforts of the ‘Keys Life’. Blending time-honored diversions with pure relaxation, the casually redefined Amara Cay Resort inspires guests to curate a personal, non-scripted journey the #AmaraCayVacay way.
