Londa voted “Leading Mediterranean Boutique Hotel”

The Londa, the contemporary boutique hotel in Limassol Cyprus, has again been recognised by the World Travel Awards (WTA), winning the award for Leading Mediterranean Boutique Hotel. This follows on from last year’s success when the Londa won WTA’s accolade for Cyprus’s Leading Hotel.

At a glamorous event held in Poprad in Slovakia last night the award was accepted in front of a host of top travel industry professionals. The WTA is now in its 15th year and aims to promote excellence in the travel and tourism industry. Winners are decided by hundreds of thousands of votes cast by travel agents in over 200 countries around the world, making this the world’s most comprehensive travel awards ceremony.

“It is particularly gratifying to be recognised by the WTA for two years in a row”, comments General Manager Jochen Niemann. “Following the multi-million pound refurbishment which was completed in the summer of 2005, we aimed to make the Londa one of the best hotels in Cyprus. This new honour is the result of a group effort, and it is wonderful for all the team here that we are deemed one of the best in the Mediterranean. By focusing on sincere and efficient service to match our unique mixture of contemporary design and Mediterranean atmosphere we have built a loyal clientele in both the leisure and business sectors."

The Londa, along with other winners from the four regional awards, will be put forward for their respective global categories, to be announced towards the end of this year. The final event will take place on the Turks & Caicos Islands.
