3.57 million tourists flocked to Morocco between January and May 2014, a 9% increase over last year.
EL JADIDA, MOROCCO – Latest estimates by General Directorate for National Security in Morocco in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism Morocco has revealed that more than 3.57 million tourists visited the Kingdom between January and May 2014, which reflects an increase of 9% compared to the same period last year.
Further, Morocco’s Exchange Office in statistics released to the Ministry of Tourism revealed that revenues from foreign tourists rose by 2 to 3%, reaching MAD 21.7 billion compared to MAD 21 billion during the same period last year.

“We are collaborating with 8 airline service providers to reward our visitors on every mile they cross to reach us. Our occupancy rates are on the rise and we anticipate further growth until the end of the summer season and beyond. Arab tourists, particularly from the Gulf region, are registering high footfall compared to other high turnover visitors from traditional markets such as France, Spain, Germany and the UK,” Killinger added.
