As China’s boutique hotel sector booms, it is a destination proving to be one of the most dynamic for Small Luxury Hotels of the World and for 2014 SLH has expanded into Chengdu for the first time with the addition of luxury property Jade Gallery Boutique Hotel. The 94 bedroom property is designed in masculine browns, blacks, creams and beiges, creating a cosmopolitan yet classic ambience, ideal for business or leisure travellers.

Guests can enjoy extensive facilities including a wine bar, gym, cigar lounge, business centre, high speed Wi-Fi, butler and porter services, concierge, turn-down service, complimentary car parking and newspapers as well as a wide choice of gourmet dining options with North Korean and international cuisine.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World announces first Ibiza property
Hacienda Na Xamena will form part of the SLH portfolio when it reopens this spring after a full refurbishment. Built into Ibiza’s northern cliffs, the luxury hotel offers one of the best views in the Balearics and is a world away from the more hedonistic side of the island.

Hacienda Na Xamena is the first Ibiza hotel to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is a direct response to customer demand with Ibiza being one of the most popular searches on the SLH website. The new acquisition brings the SLH Balearic Island member count up to five.

A first step into Austin, Texas, for Small Luxury Hotels of the World
From 3rd March, British Airways is offering five weekly non-stop flights between London Heathrow and Austin, marking the first regular transatlantic air service for the city.

At the same time, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) welcomes its first property in Texas with Hotel Ella, which opened in Austin in autumn 2013. With a history that can be traced back to 1846, Hotel Ella is a multi-million dollar renovation of one of Austin’s original landmark mansion houses. The new boutique hotel now has a stunning interior courtyard with a pool and private cabanas, as well as wonderful gardens around the estate.
