February`s snowy weather failed to freeze performances at UK hotels, with all indicators showing growth last month, particularly in London , according to the latest figures from PKF hotel consultancy services.

PKF`s report, published, show that hoteliers in London were the real winners last month, with rooms yield up a healthy 6.3% to £77.60, thanks to a 1.5% increase in occupancy to 74.4% and a 4.8% rise in average room rate to £104.28.

Outside London the picture was still positive, with rooms yield increasing 4.4% to £44.30, due to a 0.3% rise in occupancy to 68.9% and a 4.1% improvement in average room rate to £64.30.

Robert Barnard, partner for hotel consultancy services at PKF, said: “February`s hotel performance figures are strong across the board. It`s encouraging to see that the cold weather didn`t put off visitors to the capital and throughout the rest of the UK. With the weather warming up, hopefully even more people will be travelling during the coming month boosting hotel occupancy levels.”

PKF will be publishing its annual review of the UK hotel market, Hotel Britain, on 12 April.
