Pina Caldera Residence, a romantic hideaway on stunning Santorini

Beautiful private villa with pool in Oia is exclusive and unique.

ATHENS, GREECE – Aria Hotels continues to expand its reach across Greece and the Greek islands, this time with a truly stunning and intimate property with breath-taking views over the Oia cliffs on the magical island of Santorini. Famed for its sunset and a perennial destination for romantic couples, Santorini combines colourful villages, beaches, tavernas and seascapes for a relaxing and unforgettable holiday. The Pina Caldera Residence offers a totally private retreat for two people, which has recently been refurbished to the highest standards.

Formerly a traditional cave house, Pina Caldera is named after the villa’s pine tree – a very rare sight on Santorini. The villa features a long and extensive private terrace overlooking the Caldera basin formed from the collapsed crater of an ancient volcano – and a sight like nowhere else on earth. With its exterior whirlpool spa it is the perfect, secluded location to unwind and take in the dramatic, extraordinary horizon of this most romantic of islands.

Completely self-contained, the property has all the modern facilities which discerning guests would require including air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi internet access, satellite TV and a fully-equipped kitchenette plus laundry room; the modern bathroom features a shower. Sleeping two people in a king size bed with COCO-MAT mattress and fine linens, this comfortable accommodation also comes with cleaning and concierge services. The furnished living and dining areas are bright and fresh, giving the residence a sense of space and tranquillity which flows naturally into the outdoor living space with its panoramic vistas.

Oia is approximately 24km from Santorini airport and the new port of Santorini (Athinios), a mere drive of around 20 to 30 minutes to reach the village. Santorini is the southernmost island in the Cyclades. Located between Ios and Anafi, it is easily accessible by air and sea. The geology of the island has fascinated visitors down the centuries. The volcanic eruption 3,000 years ago ensured the complete preservation of the prehistoric village at Akrotiri, which is worth a visit. The steep cliffs and carefully sited houses at the edge of the rocks blend with the pastels and shades of the sunset horizon. The island offers much in the way of cultural heritage, wine and gastronomy, and a boat tour around the Caldera is an ideal way to experience the magical landscapes of Santorini and the volcano as well as the nearby island of Thirassia.
