Renovation marks a must “Sea” change for Warwick Seattle Hotel

Warwick Seattle Hotel has announced the successful completion of the first major phase of planned multi-million dollar renovations. Seventy-four rooms, one-third of the hotel’s 230 guest rooms, received a total transformation. Five floors were involved (14-18), and the corridors on these floors also underwent a comprehensive refurbishing. Phase Two of the renovations, which will encompass an additional four floors, is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2011 and be completed by the end of the year.

Warwick Seattle Hotel has long been a favorite of corporate travelers and vacationing visitors in Seattle on a pre- or post-cruise layover, attending a sporting event or just enjoying all that Seattle has to offer. “Our forte is our significantly larger, more spacious rooms, versus other hotels in the area, with plenty of space to work, and lots of natural lighting from the big windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors,” said Jacob Yi, general manager of Warwick Seattle Hotel. “But the new design opens up even more space for our guests. For example, the desks now hug the wall, and the armoires were removed completely, since many travelers bring less clothing along, possibly in an attempt to limit baggage fees.”

Yi continued, “The design is much more metropolitan, reflecting the atmosphere of the city. We incorporated lighter colors with simple and flowing lines for a feeling that is easy and not rigid, yet still sophisticated. The guests simply love the new look.”

Comfort was another key consideration, and all of the redesigned rooms received new Serta pillow-top plush beds, and upgraded couches with queen-sized pull-out beds. All double beds have been replaced with queen beds (king beds are still available). Carpet, paint, furniture and accessories – from light fixtures to artwork featuring Seattle landmarks – are all new. Thirty-seven inch flat screen LCD television sets and iPod docking stations are now in place. The bathrooms still feature Italian marble counters, but also offer new shower curtains, upgraded lighting and new semi-rain shower heads.

The lighter, metropolitan aesthetic also underlies the renovation of the five corridors, with more neutral colors and lighter wood. The new carpeting provides a colorful, playful note. With flowing lines and no border, it helps the corridor appear larger.

“Throughout the economic downturn, Warwick International Hotels continued to invest significantly in upgrading our hotels, both in the U.S. and abroad,” said G. Paul LeBlanc, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Warwick International Hotels. “As more people resume traveling, Warwick Seattle welcomes them to experience our dramatic new look and gracious personal service.”
All of the Warwick Seattle Hotel’s 226 guest rooms and four suites feature floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors with Juliet balconies, offering magnificent views of the Seattle Space Needle or city skyline. Guest rooms are furnished with a minibar or refrigerator, in-room safe, work space, two-line telephones equipped with voice mail and a data port, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, movies and games system, as well as designer bath amenities.

Warwick Seattle Hotel, acquired by Warwick International Hotels in the 1980s, is one of the few downtown Seattle hotels to offer an indoor heated swimming pool and whirlpool. Other amenities include a sauna, exercise facility with new, state-of-the-art fitness equipment and a 24-hour business centre. It is home to the Brasserie Margaux restaurant, marrying the best ingredients and elements of Northwest-style food with French influences and techniques, and the Margaux Lounge, the perfect spot for cocktails and conversation.
