The Rome Cavalieri Hilton, a luxurious 15-acre urban resort perched on a hill overlooking the Eternal City, has announced the completion of a four-year, 45-million Usd renovation designed to enhance the guest experience across all touchpoints of the resort. Each of the 370 guestrooms has been modernized and refurbished, welcoming travelers with opulent new amenities and a higher level of convenience and connectivity. Also new is a collection of 25 individually designed and decorated suites.

The property has undergone extensive landscaping, the lobby has been face-lifted, new fitness offerings have been added and meeting space has been upgraded. In addition to the new features, the Rome Cavalieri Hilton continues to house an impressive art and antique collection, world-class dining, a full-service spa and the city`s largest indoor and outdoor pools.

Guests will begin to notice the improvements immediately upon arrival. An instant sense of tranquility and luxury welcomes travelers as they walk through the lush, Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds the hotel and has now been extended to the front entrance, where beautifully manicured gardens and a cascading waterfall have replaced what was previously a parking area.

New reception and concierge desks by Italian architect Gaetano Castelli feature surfaces made of Sodalite, a rare Brazilian semi-precious stone dramatically shaded in blue, gray and green. This stone is believed to facilitate communication between people, stimulate creativity and soothe and relax the soul. Antique multi-chrome marble panels, originally decorative features of an aristocratic southern Italian palazzo, adorn the center of each desk, encased at the sides by contemporary curved blue crystal. Also displayed in the lobby are some rare Old Master paintings, furniture, tapestries and artifacts dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The reconfiguration of all 370 guestrooms has created a new sense of intimacy for guests, partially separating the sleeping area from the rest of the room in a Junior Suite style. To ensure a peaceful rest for even the most jet-lagged traveler, all rooms have been equipped with soundproof doors and electric blinds that block out all outdoor light at the push of a button. Sweet dreams are further assured with the introduction of a new pillow menu featuring 16 choices, including anti-allergic, herbal, buckwheat and orthopedic varieties.

The new room decor extends to the bathrooms, which have been fitted with colorful inlaid Italian marble. In addition, all rooms have re-styled terraces that provide larger sitting areas, elegant wrought-iron chairs and silver side-mirrors that are cleverly positioned to enhance dramatic views of Rome.

With a choice of 25 suites, Rome Cavalieri Hilton guests have the option of indulging in further space and comfort. Each individually-designed suite has been redecorated and is now equipped with a special leather multi-massage chair and a DVD surround sound system. Plasma flat-screen televisions are tastefully installed in a gilded picture frame. Each bathroom has gold-plated fixtures, Italian marble and an additional television.

Leisure and business guests can choose to stay on the hotel`s seventh and eighth Executive Floors, now connected by an elegant marble staircase, richly decorated with fine tapestries and antique furnishings. Upon arrival, Executive Floor guests are welcomed at the new VIP reception area to ensure swift check-in and are personally escorted to their rooms via private express elevator.

Two new 2,150-square-foot Super Suites — the Penthouse and the Planetarium — have been added to the Executive Floor. The interiors showcase a Tai Ping sculpted carpet, Karl Lagerfeld sofas and armchairs (recently purchased from a Sotheby`s auction in Monte Carlo) and each suite has a connecting room that can be transformed into a private gym upon request. The luxuriant master bathroom features a tropical mist shower with chromo-aromatherapy (a pleasing combination of scent and colored light) and a raised hydro-massage mini pool where one can enjoy sweeping city views or watch the plasma screen television. The bathrooms are fitted with precious stone and crystallized marble, along with Swarovski crystal water fixtures. Another exceptional feature is the amount of private outdoor space on the highest terrace of the Eternal City: a private staircase leads from the living room directly to a 2,150-square-foot roof garden with a small pool and a gazebo, perfect for private parties and sunbathing.

The ideal venue for meetings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions and special events, the conference center at the Rome Cavalieri Hilton provides total efficiency, comfort and the most modern technology for up to 5,500 guests. Large meetings are accommodated in the impressive Salone dei Cavalieri Ballroom, while a combination of several other rooms caters to events of varying sizes. Unique refinement is offered at the panoramic Terrazza degli Aranci with its spectacular views of the city. Enlargement of the garden level Le Belle Arti room has included the addition of an airy veranda, providing extra space for elegant receptions and banquets in an area overlooking the swimming pool and the hotel`s Mediterranean park. The entire property now has high speed wireless Internet. Meeting planners will find exceptionally attractive options at the hotel, including much sought-after function rooms that feature natural daylight.

With the growing popularity of the hotel`s Mediterranean gardens, the one-kilometer long nature path now has 11 exercise stations with corresponding equipment and instructions. In addition, guests seeking additional invigoration and relaxation will find it at The Grand Spa, a fully equipped 21,527-square-foot spa and fitness center featuring the latest Technogym equipment for cardiovascular, aerobic and isometric workouts and swimming in a glass-domed heated indoor pool, complete with a cozy wood-burning open fireplace. Guests can relax in Ancient Roman thermal style by enjoying a sauna, whirlpool tub or Turkish bath before indulging in an expert La Prairie beauty treatment or massage. Two red-clay floodlit outdoor tennis courts and a summer open-air swimming pool complete the hotel`s recreational facilities.
