Schmelter has previously worked with Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UK and Germany, and most recently was Resident Manager of the Jeddah Inter-Continental Hotel. He holds degrees from the Hotel Management School in Tegernsee and Munich, Germany and has taken several advance management courses at the Washington State University.
The 323-room Crowne Plaza Jeddah, situated only 25 minutes drive from Jeddah International Airport on the Corniche, overlooking the Red Sea, is popular with business or leisure travellers.
