Sold-out 2016 Hotel Data Conference to feature 13 top-level executives

The 2016 Hotel Data Conference will comprise more than 100 speakers in four general sessions, 18 breakout sessions, 23 breakout “data dash” sessions and six advanced-level “data dive” discussions.

HENDERSONVILLE, TENNESSEE – The 2016 Hotel Data Conference (6-8 September), which commences one week from yesterday, will feature 13 top-level hotel-company executives among a sellout crowd of 525 attendees at the Omni Nashville Hotel. This will mark the third consecutive year the event has been sold out.

STR and Hotel News Now have co-hosted the event each year since its inception in 2009.

“This continues a now eight-year tradition with high-quality speakers and in-depth insights and information,” said Jeff Higley, STR’s VP of digital media & communications and editorial director of Hotel News Now. “The program is evolving in the amount of analysis provided, which gives attendees a deeper understanding of the state of the hotel industry and the nuances of the industry’s current landscape-all in time for budget season.”

Four of the aforementioned 13 top-level executives will take the stage during various general sessions:

  • David Berg – COO of Carlson Inc.
  • Stephen Joyce – president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, Inc.
  • Bharat Patel – chairman and CEO of Sun Development & Management Corporation
  • Neil Shah – president and COO of Hersha Hospitality Trust

Nine top-level executives will headline breakout sessions: Dawn Berry (PHD Hospitality), Gerry Chase (Newcastle Hotels & Resorts), Bill DeForrest (Spire Hospitality), Brian Fry (Commonwealth Hotels), Jeff Good (Good Hospitality Services), Eric Horodas (Greystone Hotels), Ravi Patel (Hawkeye Hotels), Glenn Squires (Pacrim Hospitality Services) and Bashar Wali (Provenance Hotels).

General session panelists representing additional areas of expertise include: Roger Dow (U.S. Travel Association), Amanda Hite (STR), Jeff Low (Stash Hotel Rewards), Michael Murphy (First Fidelity Companies), Adam Sacks (Tourism Economics), Randy Smith (STR) and Mark Woodworth (CBRE Hotels’ Americas Research).

The 2016 Hotel Data Conference will comprise more than 100 speakers in four general sessions, 18 breakout sessions, 23 breakout “data dash” sessions and six advanced-level “data dive” discussions. Overall, the conference will include approximately 820 minutes of hotel industry data.
