SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – The 515-room Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek announced the completion of the first phase of a multi-million-dollar renovation that will transform and upgrade the hotel to like-new status.  During this phase, the top-to-bottom project focused on completely revitalizing all guest rooms, hallways and bathrooms. The hotel is owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and operated by HEI Hotel & Resorts, a leading hospitality investment and management company.

“This renovation was all-encompassing and essentially creating a ‘brand-new’ product and experience targeted towards today’s business and leisure travelers,” said Andreo Girardi, hotel general manager. “The new design and features are geared towards providing our guests with the best amenities and services upon the moment of arrival.  The outcome has exceeded our own expectations, and our guests are sure to be delighted with the results.”

In the guestrooms, all furniture, bedding, new luxury vinyl tile flooring and wallpaper was installed.  Bathroom doorways were expanded and received new barn-style doors, vanities with granite countertops and tile flooring. New flooring and wall coverings were also installed in the guestroom corridors, brightening up the entire arrival space and creating a more luxurious atmosphere for guests.

With phase one complete, work can now begin on phase two of the renovation, which will focus on updating the lobby, restaurant, bar and meeting spaces with a projected completion of fall 2024.
